I've never done this show before, the entry form was sat on my desk for weeks because I couldn't decide whether to do it or not but after having some good results this year I decided it would be worth the drive. In the day's leading up to the show I seriously considered not going, the forecast was terrible and I was tired and felt like having a weekend off from show's, but I had already spent over £100 on entry fee's and couldn't bring myself to waste that so off I went to Manchester. It took 5 hours, at one point when I was parked on the motorway a man got out of his car to tell me my brake lights on the caravan weren't working, I don't know what he expected me to do about it 3 hours from home on a Friday evening!
Saturday morning I didn't feel too good so didn't do very well in Champ, Flake felt really babyish in her first class but in her agility she went a bit better. Her last class was the Novice Olympia qualifier, if she got a top place in this she would get a 2nd day at the semi's so I decided to work really hard on this and not give her a chance to go wrong. She is such an honest dog, she know's when it matters and try's extra hard. She did a lovely round and won it by 2 second's. I didn't realise that hardly anyone was getting round this course, I think there were only around 13 or 14 clears. This means Flake will be Grade 6 for Rugby :)
Holly's courses were really hard, and not in a nice challenging way, in a ..............stupid way. I can't think of any other way to describe them, after talking to Lee about them I realised there was no point in trying to get her round courses like this and I would be better off just making up my own course. She did manage a fairly good clear in the Crufts qualifier and ended up 13th, just a boble on the tunnel which cost her some time.
Emmy was listening to me allot better than normal over the weekend and even got all of her contacts in one class but I managed to forget the course, thankfully I don't do that too often.
On Sunday Ty had the crufts points class, he already had enough points to qualify but I wanted to get some more just to be sure. The winner of this class also get's 10 credits toward international selection next year. I liked the course, it suited Ty and he did a lovely round, probably the best he's ever done and he won it by almost a second which at that level is allot! This got him an extra 10 points for Crufts and 10 credits which I submitted as soon as I got home on Sunday night :)
Here's a pic of Zazu in the caravan, he loves camping. He's doing his 1st show this weekend at Fab, the class he's doing is just jumps and tunnels then at Lansdown he's doing a couple of proper classes so I really need to teach him to weave. He's not really ready to compete but i'd like to see how he reacts to being in the ring and whether I need to put more effort into getting him into groups and training in different places.
I really like Nottingham show, im not really sure why I just feel really chilled there and for 3 years in a row now I've got into the champ final with Ty. It was Holly's first G6 show, she was a bit shocked by the hard weave entries as she's so used to getting easy one's. Her best run was in the Olympia qualifier where she only had 5f where she pulled off a tunnel, it was such a hard course hardly anyone was getting round it. Ty came 3rd in it which I was really pleased with. On the Monday we went on to Packington where Flake qualified for the novice Olympia semi's, it was an awkward course that took a bit of thinking about but she was very good and came 3rd, just beaten by my 10yo sister!!!

Hinckley was nice as well, it's a small show so you can see all of the rings without having to walk miles yet the standard of agility is very high. Ty came 2nd in the Crufts Qualifier which should give him enough point's to qualify but I would like some more to be sure. Flake was 2nd in the Novice Pro Plan qualifier which she is already qualified for, I got to try out her running contact again and I was happy with what she did. Holly was doing some odd things like cutting in front or behind me which she doesn't normally do so I took her to Smart to be checked, they found some minor tight spots but nothing serious. Emmy was wild, all she did was argue with me all weekend, she's such a madam but she had fun so that's all that matters. I didn't get any video's as was on my own.
This weekend was Thames, I wasn't really on form after having a bad week due to caravan issues yet managed to get Ty into the Champ Final. Ty did a lovely round in the Crufts class with just 1 pole down which was a shame.
Here's some video's from the weekend.
