Holly was the star of the show winning her 3rd G3 jumping this year which will put her in to Grade 4 in time for Gillingham. She did some other brilliant rounds just with the odd mistake but, the best thing about her was how chilled she was around the show, Ive had some serious behavioural isues with her which could easily have stopped her from ever competing and yet she has been improving loads recently and I even let her off lead in the exercise area to play with friends dogs and she loved it.
Ty did some realy good rounds, the most frustrating being having a pole down in the jumping round of the British open yet having 10 faults marked on his score sheet, I dont know whether the mistake was the judges or the scrimes but it was too late to do anything by the time I realised but I think it may have put us out of the British open Semi final :( I trained all of G7 agility rounds as his next Show is Prestbury champ and I dont want to have the same A-frame issue as at agility club.
Emmy got 5th in G5 jumping on Fri which I was really pleased with, she should have got lots more placings but I did a couple of dumb things which stopped her from getting them. Poor princess, but she had lots of fun anyway.
Flake got much more confident over the weekend, she was close to clear rounds in alot of classes, her running contacts were fab especially in her last agility round.Im going to try and train her at some different venues over the winter to build her confidence.
Ty was really on form at agility club, he's had about 2 months of very limited agility due to an injury and this was the first show that I was sure he was 100%. We ran 6th in the Champ final, just a missed A-frame contact put us out of the running. In the Crufts qualifier his time would have gone in to the lead towards the end of the class but again a missed A-frame got in the way
:( This is because the few runs he has done recently have all been competetive so he's pushing them a bit.
Flake got her first clear round and came 7th in a C3-5 jumping, she also went well in her other rounds just having small mistakes. Holly and Emmy were a bit crazy, im not sure what happened with them really :/
I ran my first young dog socialisation course on Wednesday, it was encouraging to see people doing the right things already they just need the right environment to practice in. If you have a reactive or nervous dog a show isnt really the best place to work on the problem.
Im looking forward to KC festival now, hopefully it wont be too wet.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
