I held a fun competition at home today (with allot of help from Irana), the turnout was amazing! by 11am the parking was full and the place was buzzing with people and dog's. 36 dog's ran and they all did at least one brilliant run and allot of the beginners went from a difficult first run to clear rounds and win's by the end. I think it was a massive success and im hoping to plan another one for June.
Yesterday Natasha Wise came to do a training day, she is so positive and energetic, she just tweaked what people were already doing down to the finest detail and left them all feeling very positive. I will definatly be asking her to come again.
Im off to Lincoln next weekend for the European Open try-out's with Ty, the try-out's run alongside Lincoln show so I will be competing Holly, Emmy and Flake as well.
One of my weakest points as a competitor is my 'i'd rather give up than fail mentality' (that's my MY NAME IS CLAIRE AND IM AN ................. MOMENT). I am going to ditch this atitude, Ty is an awsome agility dog, he is very talented and I am going to prove it. If I don't qualify then that's ok, if I allow Ty to look anything less than awsome then that is not ok!
This week has been for chilling out and going for walk's, next week I will train them each a little bit but I like to compete them fresh, I hate feeling like im flogging a dead horse.
I've done quite allot with Cally and Zazu this week, Zazu is learning really quickley. I was thinking that I would do a couple of shows with him at the end of the season but he's almost weaving, his contacts are looking good and he's really confident with his jumping so he may well be competing at Lansdown. Cally has about a 2 minute attention span which make's teaching her quite hard work but it won't get any longer unless I do train her. The maners minder has been brilliant for this, it allow's me to keep changing between toy's and treat's yet keep her working away from me. She is very sweet and love's cuddle's, ill try to get a video of what she's doing this week.
Bellow is a video of Zazu, it was his first time doing the dogwalk at this height, it's still got to go up a bit, I also need to proof it to my movement allot but he's doing it far better than I would expect considering the amount of training I have done on it :)
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
